Environmental Conservation Social Contribution Activities

Introducing examples of activities that contribute to environmental preservation in the communities

Protecting the Balance of the Ecosystem and Preserving the Beauty of Lake Hamana

Yamaha Motor takes responsibility for environmental conservation in the oceans, mountains and rivers which are our product fields, and minimize our effect on the environment. As part of these efforts, the Company engages in satoyama conservation activities. Twice a year (spring and autumn), Yamaha Motor conducts thinning of bamboo groves in the satoyama adjacent to Yamaha Marina Hamanako (Shizuoka Prefecture), where the growth of broad-leaved forests is being hindered. If left unmanaged, the bamboo groves become overcrowded, and the roots of the bamboo spread to surrounding areas, obstructing the growth of other healthy trees that naturally grow there. This activity, conducted with voluntary employee participation, aims to protect the balance of the ecosystem and preserve the beauty of Lake Hamana.
