Quality Assurance Governance System

We have established a quality management system based on our quality policy and the ISO 9001 standard, and implemented that system on a global scale. Each business unit has set medium-term targets and furthered activities in line with the three-year medium-term plan formulated by headquarters. The content and progress of the medium term management plan are assessed at the business management review, and by discussing solutions to the issues, the PDCA cycle of the quality management system is effectively implemented.

We have established the Product Assurance Committee as the highest-level body responsible for determining company-wide quality assurance policies. The Product Assurance Committee deliberates on matters such as the quality policy and measures, the formulation, revision, and abolishment of rules concerning quality assurance, and measures to address quality issues. It informs the quality management representatives of the various business divisions and centers of its decisions via the Quality Assurance Subcommittee. Those representatives then pass that information on to the work sites. The Yamaha Motor Company Group Quality Management System Requirements, which are compliant with ISO 9001, serve as the basis for continual improvement of organizational quality management systems. In addition, the Market Quality Information Auditing Committee, under authority delegated by the President, monitors whether market quality information is processed appropriately based on product problem information and warranty repair information from various markets. This committee conducts timely investigations and presents reports to management.
