Introducing the Yamaha Rider Awards

Yamaha Rider Awards
Purpose of the Award

The Yamaha Rider Awards "The Spirit of Challenge" is an award system to officially recognize Yamaha riders who deliver great results on the track and provide the excitement we call Kando* to many people in motor sports events held around the world. We hope that this award will become a new goal and source of encouragement for Yamaha riders, and spur them on to further growth. At the same time, we hope it will contribute to the spread of motor sports and growth in the number of motor sports fans.

The area the awards cover will be the area the Yamaha Motorsports Press Conference is held in. As the Press Conference was held in Malaysia for 2014, riders from Asia and the ASEAN region were selected. Five Yamaha riders who recorded excellent performances in motor sports in their respective countries over the 2013 season were presented with the award.

*Kando is a Japanese word for the simultaneous feelings of deep satisfaction and intense excitement that we experience when we encounter something of exceptional value.
