Born April 1973. Joined the Yamaha Team in 1996 and raced in the 500cc class. Won the Austrian GP and ranked 10th. In 1990 and 1991, won the GP125 championship (Honda). Subsequently, advanced to the 250cc class. In 1988, took the title on an Aprilia. From 1995, stepped up to the 500cc class and rode a YZR500 in his second year of GP500 racing (1996). The following year, left Yamaha and returned to 250cc competition, but from 2000 returned to the 500cc class. From 2002, participated in the MotoGP. Rode, Honda, Ducati and Suzuki. In 2010 was still riding in the MotoGP. Has enjoyed a long racing career.
