We will create Yamaha Kando uniquely to resolve social issues and achieve sustainable growth under the banner ”ART* for Human Possibilities“ as we work toward 2030.

Yamaha Motor has grown by creating new value under the name of “Kando* Creating Company” as our universal corporate mission. This Kando is originated by blending technology/engineering and art. Generating Kando has always been our tradition, pride, and strength.
As we move forward to 2030, the Company aims to expand human possibilities and create better lives with society by focusing on our three initiatives; Advancing Robotics (utilization of robotics/intellectual technology), Rethinking Solutions (taking on social issues according to the unique style of Yamaha), and Transforming Mobility.” The phrase “ART for Human Possibilities” has been created with this concept in mind.

For business results of fiscal year in 2019, although sales increases in the Marine Products Business and Financial Services Businesses, decreased sales in the Land Mobility Business and Robotics Businesses (excluding the effects of M&As) led to decreased income overall. In terms of operating income, profitability improvements progressed in the Developed Markets Motorcycle Business thanks to increased European and headquarters’ factory utilization rates and structural reform, and in the Indonesia Motorcycle Business thanks to increased sales of products in higher price ranges. However, operating income decreased overall due to factors such as decreased net sales from the Robotics Business, increased growth strategy expenses, and foreign exchange effects.

The Medium-term Management Plan runs from 2019 and covers the first three years of transforming toward the realization of our Long-Term Vision: ”ART for Human Possibilities”. In 2019, while we made progress in growth strategies and strengthening of the foundation, challenges remained in the existing business. In 2020, the second year of the Medium-term Management Plan, we will aim to achieve the plan by placing the recovery of profitability in its existing business as the most important issue, while continuing to promote its initiatives for growth strategies and strengthening of the foundation.
