The TMAX pioneered the never-before-seen category of “automatic supersport” models that represented new and unique values for motorcycling. It greatly impacted the motorcycle industry with its combination of sport bike performance and big scooter comfort and convenience, and it was well received by the European market in particular. The TMAX’s features included its newly developed 2-cylinder engine equipped with a horizontally-opposed balancer, and a diamond frame with the required rigidity for sport riding but designed for a scooter chassis.
