YZR700 (0W69)

This factory machine competed in the United States' AMA road racing championships. Its engine was an increased displacement version of the square 4-cylinder engine of the 1982 model YZR500 (0W60) and it debuted in 1983. The 1984 model featured slide-type YPVS, a sub-radiator and other features to improve drivability in the mid- to low-speed range and improve reliability. Kenny Roberts rode this model to victory in the Daytona 200.
