1987 YZF750 (0W89)
Collection items
(1987 / Racing Machine)
This was an endurance race spec TT-F1 factory machine based on the FZ750 production sports model. The previous model underwent a thorough revision with further refinements and advancements, including the addition of a variable exhaust valve (EXUP) designed to improve low- and mid-speed power characteristics and the adoption of a single-sided swingarm to allow faster tire changes, a factor that plays a large role in deciding an endurance race. In the 1987 Suzuka 8 hours Endurance Race, the combination of Martin Wimmer and Kevin Magee snatched a dramatic comeback victory riding the machine on display. The John Kocinski / Cal Rayborn pair also rode the YZF750 to 3rd place in this event.
