This is the machine based on Yamaha’s first 4-stroke production motocrosser YZ400F and modified for AMA Championship competition in the United States. Doug Henry rode against 250cc 2-stroke machines and placed 7th in the ranking. He became the 250cc champion in the outdoor Nationals Motocross.
