This factory machine was a competition-modified version of the YZ250 production motocrosser. With the constantly maturing 2-stroke single-cylinder engine and semi-double cradle frame as the basic components, it adopted a specially designed intake/exhaust system, a front fork with large-diameter tubes, a large-capacity radiator and more. Donny Schmit rode this machine to win the 250cc World Championship title.
