This factory machine was based on the YZ250 production motocrosser. It featured an aluminum fuel tank with air induction scoop and a bolt-on type rear frame for easier servicing. John van den Berk rode this machine to the 250cc World Motocross title and helped Yamaha win its fourth Manufacturer championship at the same time.
