(1982 / Production Model)

DT125

This model combines impressive styling suggesting that of the “YZ” motorcrosser, and the first liquid-cooled engine ever on a production trail model. The power delivery is the largest in class (at time of release) at 16 hp. It features Yamaha’s exclusive “YEIS (Yamaha Energy Induction System)” that smooths the flow of the fuel-air mixture and achieves a good balance of fuel economy and performance, thus providing the wide powerband from low- to middle-speeds up to the high-speed range essential for a trail model. It also achieves a high-level mix of the functions a trail model demands, including a light chassis, long wheel travel, high minimum ground clearance, excellent cushioning, strong-grip tires, and more.
