1967 CS1-E
Collection items
(1967 / Production Model)
The CS1-E used a variety of technologies including an aluminum cylinder with outstanding cooling properties, twin carburetors and a class-first electric starter (equipped with a kick-starter as well). It had an orthodox 2-stroke, 180cc 3-port, piston valve engine, but had the high output potential to match the level of the 250cc models. The chassis consisted of a diamond frame without an under-loop so the engine could be rigidly mounted as a stressed member of the chassis. This gave the CS-1E lightness, handling and stability comparable to that of a 125cc motorcycle.
