This was Yamaha Motor’s first ATV (3-wheeled). It had a snorkel-type air intake to prevent water or dirt from entering, the “Autolube” separate oil supply system, a 2-stroke, 125cc engine and wide balloon tires front and rear, giving it solid off-road performance. It was first sold in North America in 1979 and introduced into Japan in 1982, where a 175cc version was sold alongside it. Both were only available on the northernmost island of Hokkaido. On display is the 1982 model.
