Toyota 1G-GTEU

This was the first DOHC twin-turbo engine in Japan. It was created by adding two turbochargers to the 1G-GEU 2,000cc straight-six engine that Yamaha Motor developed based on the Toyota 1G power unit. Later, spec changes such as replacing the liquid-type intercooler with an air-type helped boost maximum power output from 185 PS to 210 PS. It was mounted in the Toyota Mark II series, Soarer and Celica XX.

  • Engine type: Turbocharged, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4-valve, in-line 6-cylinder, 1,988cm³
  • Maximum power output: 154.5kW (210.0PS) / 6,200r/min
  • Maximum torque: 274.6N•m (28.0kgf•m) / 3,800r/min
