From 1977, when the Formula 750 achieved world championship status, focused on the F750. In 1979, his third year of racing in the event, in ten races and 20 heats mounted the podium 11 times (including for four wins) and took the title. However, in a GP race in that year, met with an accident and tragically lost his life.
