Born: 1-Aug-86

Born August 1986. The third Yamaha racer to ride a YZR500 after Kenny Roberts and Eddie Lawson. In 1983 raced in the 500cc class, from the Sonauto Team. Came 4th twice and took 6th place in the 500cc world championship.
Made his racing debut in 1977. In the following year, entered his first World GP on a Yamaha TZ250 and finished 7th in the Bol d'Or 24 Hour. In 1980, teamed with Herve Moineau (Honda), won the Le Mans 24 Hours and the pair went on to win the 1980 Endurance World Championship. In 1981, joined the Sonauto Yamaha Team and rode a YZR500 in the GP500.
