Born July 1973. The oldest son of Kenny Roberts, who won the GP500 World Championship three years straight, from 1978 to 1980. In 1993, Kenny Roberts Jr. rode in his first GP250. He also raced in the Suzuka 8 Hours that year and was ranked 8th. Rode a Yamaha YZR250 in the GP250 of 1994 and 1995, achieving respective rankings of 18th and 8th. In 1996, stepped up to the 500cc class and earned a ranking of 13th on a YZR500. In 2000, beat off highly favored competitors Valentino Rossi (Honda) and Max Biaggi (Yamaha) to take the GP500 title (Suzuki). Father and son both were winners of the World GP title.
