Born September 1980. Joined Yamaha in 2006 and rode a YZR-M1 in the MotoGP with teammate Colin Edwards as part of the Tech 3 Yamaha Team. That year, his highest position was a 9th place in the Catalunya GP, and a ranking of 18th. Took the title in the 2001 European Superstock series and subsequently entered World Superbike Championship. In 2004, his ranking in the WSB was 19th. He debuted in MotoGP in 2005 and was ranked 23rd, competing on Blata machines. In 2006, he obtained a full-time position as a Yamaha rider.
