Deltabox frame adopted
The 0W70 was the successor to the 0W61. It mounted and advanced version of the V-4 engine on an aluminum Deltabox frame designed specifically for a 17-inch front wheel. Furthermore, the inertial mass of the flywheel was increased to increase handling stability and the shock absorber unit was changed (bell crank type in early season, bottom linked type from mid-season) and the frame rigidity revised to further boost competitiveness. K. Roberts rode this 0W70 during the 1983 season in an intense title race with F. Spencer on the Honda 3-cylinder NS500 and just fell short of winning the championship. Roberts just fell short of winning the championship and thereafter announced his retirement from World GP racing.
