October 30, 2026—Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. announces that Álvaro Carpe will join the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team for the 2027 season alongside Alberto Ferrández. The highly rated Spaniard's arrival reinforces Yamaha's and the team's commitment to nurture young talent and adds another exciting prospect to Yamaha's BLU CRU rider development pathway.
Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that Álvaro Carpe will join the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team for the 2027 season, partnering Alberto Ferrández as part of Yamaha's and the team's continued commitment to identifying, supporting, and developing the next generation of Grand Prix talent.
The Spanish rider has established himself as one of the most promising young talents in motorcycle racing. After enjoying success in the junior categories, including winning both the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and the FIM JuniorGP World Championship in 2024, Carpe has continued to impress on the Grand Prix stage during his Moto3 career.
Since making his Moto3 World Championship debut in late 2024, Carpe has demonstrated the speed, adaptability, and racing intelligence that have marked him out as a future star. A fourth-place finish in the 2025 Moto3 World Championship, together with five podium finishes and a first pole position at Mugello, confirmed his potential at world championship level. This season's results further attest to his talent. He has secured seven podiums so far, as well as a pole at COTA, to currently hold fourth place in the 2026 championship standings.
Carpe's move to the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team represents an important new step in his career and underlines Yamaha's long-term investment in young riders through the BLU CRU programme. The intermediate category will provide the ideal environment for the 19-year-old to continue his development as he progresses towards his ambitions in the premier class.

Paolo Pavesio - Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing
"The BLU CRU project is built around a simple but important ambition: to identify young talents and build around them the right opportunities at the right moment, supporting their development through a clear pathway within the Yamaha racing family. Our Moto2 project plays a fundamental role in that vision. We want the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 team to be the place where talented young riders aim to go to pave their road to MotoGP, learn how to compete at a higher level, and build the foundations for the next stages of their careers. Álvaro has already demonstrated his talent and potential, and we believe our Moto2 project is the right place for him to move to the next level. Together with Alberto, he represents exactly the kind of young rider we want to invest in through BLU CRU. We are very pleased to welcome him to Yamaha and look forward to supporting his development from 2027 onwards."
Paolo Campinoti - Team Principal, Pramac Racing
"We are very pleased to continue working alongside Yamaha on the BLU CRU project, supporting the development of young talents on their journey towards MotoGP. We warmly welcome Álvaro Carpe to the team and look forward to supporting him in this important step in his career. Alberto [Ferrández] has done a great job adapting to Moto2 this season, and we are confident he can take a significant step forward in 2027 and establish himself as one of the leading riders in the category."
Álvaro Carpe
"Stepping up to Moto2 means a great deal to me, and doing so with the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha team makes it even more special. I'm really looking forward to getting started, riding the bike for the first time, and working with a team that has contributed so much, and continues to contribute so much, to our sport.
"It's a challenge that we are taking on with great enthusiasm and, at the same time, a real sense of happiness. I would like to thank Yamaha and Pramac for giving me this opportunity, as well as everyone who supports me day in and day out, helping my career to grow and improve with each passing season.
"Let's get to work!"
Alberto Ferrandez
“I’m really happy to renew with my team for another year. They are the team that gave me the opportunity to race in the World Championship, and I’m very grateful for that. There will be quite a few changes next year, and I’m really excited to start working towards the new season. For now, though, we remain focused on the rest of this year, continuing to improve and working on my recovery so I can be at 100% for next season.
“I want to thank everyone who has made this possible, including my sponsors, the people who work with me every day, Yamaha, Pramac and all the team members. I’d also like to welcome Alvaro Carpe, who will be joining us next year. I’m looking forward to working together with him."
