Nakasuga to compete in MotoGP Round 15 - Grand Prix of Japan Jun. 18, 2012

The YAMAHA YSP Racing Team's Katsuyuki Nakasuga will enter as a wild card rider in the AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan, Round 15 of the 2012 FIM MotoGP World Championship series to be held at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit on October 14, 2012.
This will be the first time for the YAMAHA YSP Racing Team and its main sponsor Yamaha Sports Plaza (YSP), an official Yamaha sports bike dealer system in Japan, to compete in MotoGP, the pinnacle class of motorcycle road-racing.
Nakasuga is the winner of two consecutive championship titles (2008-2009) in the JSB1000 class of the All-Japan Road Race Championships and is competing in the class again this year from the YAMAHA YSP Racing Team. He currently is at the top of the class standings, having won two out of three races this season.
He is also a test rider for the YZR-M1 MotoGP race machine, and rode in place of an injured Jorge Lorenzo at last year's 18th round of the MotoGP at Valencia, securing an impressive 6th place finish.
