Another record for the 10-time world champion!
Stefan Everts scores his 100th career GP win!
- Takes both heats at the Netherlands GP for 13th season victory -
Sep. 5, 2006

At the 14th round of the 2006 World Motocross Championships, the Netherlands GP held on September 3 (Sun.), Stefan Everts (33, Belgium) of the Yamaha Intur Sports Motocross Team rode his YZ450FM to another historic record by winning his 100th GP. Despite the rain and a rutted track, Everts ran to victory in both heats to score his 13th MX1 class win of the season and claim the 100th GP win of his career like a true champion.

Everts made his MX GP debut in the 125cc class in 1989 and win his first race in that class in 1991. In the 16 GP seasons he has competed since then, Everts has now won a grand total of 100 GP rounds. In the 2003 season, when the series included 125cc, MXGP and 650cc classes, he also pulled off the incredible feat of winning all three classes in the last round of the season, the French GP.

Stefan Everts
"It has been a long way to this 100th GP win. I started in 1989 and now we are in 2006, so that is eighteen years to try and win 100 GPs; it has been a long road. Counting from one to ten in terms of titles can take some time, but one to one hundred is something else. I am so, so happy, thanks to everyone who has supported me. This has been a tough little period for me. Mentally I have been a bit 租one・and physically it has been hard."
