December 26, 2023

IWATA, December 26, 2023 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) is pleased to announce that the Company has installed a 2,200kW-capacity solar power generation system ("mega solar") over the entire rooftop area of the factory building at its Fukuroi South Factory (located in Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture). Operation has commenced on December 25, 2023.
A total of 4,650 panels of 475W solar panels (2,200kW) have been additionally installed. Solar panels have already been installed on the rooftops of the energy buildings at the Fukuroi South Factory in 2022; and the total power generation of 2,330kW will be the largest among the Yamaha Motor Group in Japan. The power generated will be used at the factory, and the surplus power will be transmitted to Yamaha's other business sites from 2025 via the power transmission and distribution network of the Chubu Electric Power Grid Co., Inc.
