ADOGAWA Electronics Co., Ltd. has continued using Yamaha Motor products for nearly 20 years because both companies share a corporate philosophy that places a strong emphasis on trust.

Takashima City, located in the northwestern area of Lake Biwa, is known for its rich natural surroundings and long history as a key transportation hub. Near the Ado River, which flows through the southern part of the city, stands ADOGAWA Electronics Co., Ltd.

Yamaha Motor mounters remain in operation at the company today, supporting efficient high-mix production. In addition, the strong relationship of trust built through years of reliable support continues to play an important role in the company’s success.

Our business relationship with Yamaha Motor is approaching its 20th anniversary.
Since introducing the YV100 Multi-Vision Mounter in 2006, we have selected Yamaha Motor products for all of our mounter installations.

We have been using mounters since 1995. Over time, however, our production shifted increasingly toward smaller lot sizes, making changeover time a growing challenge. As we prepared to renew our equipment, we compared solutions from multiple SMT equipment manufacturers. Yamaha Motor’s offering proved to be the best match for our operational needs.
The most important factor in our decision was the ability to significantly reduce changeover time. Another major advantage was the flexibility to handle components of various sizes simply by changing nozzles. We also highly valued the availability of specialized nozzles and the equipment’s excellent placement speed.

During the early stages of operation, minor issues occurred two or three times a year, but Yamaha Motor responded quickly each time. New production equipment can sometimes present unexpected challenges, and through the way those situations were handled, we came to view Yamaha Motor as a highly trustworthy partner. That trust has become the foundation of our nearly 20-year relationship.

Since then, the company has consistently provided prompt responses to orders and inquiries while reliably meeting delivery commitments. These qualities have further strengthened our confidence in Yamaha Motor.

Through many years of collaboration, Yamaha Motor has gained a deep understanding of our business operations and production line configuration. As a result, the company can provide recommendations tailored to our specific environment, allowing us to evaluate options and make decisions more efficiently. This has improved both production efficiency and our overall sense of confidence, further reinforcing our trust in Yamaha Motor.

We currently use Yamaha Motor mounters in our PCB assembly process, and we believe that introducing additional Yamaha Motor equipment, such as printers, inspection systems, and dispensers, could further improve production efficiency in the future. We have already achieved positive results with the implementation of automated optical inspection (AOI), and we believe it is worthwhile to explore a comprehensive package solution covering the entire production line.

Founded in 1968 as an electronic components manufacturer, our company is now celebrating its 57th year in business. We began by manufacturing capacitors and entered the PCB assembly business in 1987. Today, we also provide flow soldering, DIP component assembly, unit assembly, and other services, delivering high-precision, high-quality manufacturing solutions.

We focus on proposing solutions that meet our customers’ specific needs. As a result, we frequently receive feedback that we have successfully resolved their challenges. Understanding our customers’ requirements and business operations, then transforming those needs into practical solutions, is our core mission.

The value we provide goes beyond what can be achieved simply through equipment alone. By working closely with customer requirements, we deliver unique strengths that distinguish our company. This is why so many customers continue to choose us as their manufacturing partner.

In this respect, our relationship with Yamaha Motor shares many similarities. We believe our companies have closely aligned values and business foundations, which has enabled the development of a long-term relationship built on trust.

Takuto Hashimoto, a production floor leader, commented:
“I have been using Yamaha Motor mounters for many years and have never experienced any major problems in day-to-day operations. The system is extremely simple and easy to use.”

“Training new employees is also straightforward, enabling them to learn operation procedures in a relatively short period of time. The company employs many international staff members as well, and they are able to become proficient with the equipment smoothly.”

“This ease of training, simple setup and changeovers, efficient information sharing among operators, and overall flexibility clearly demonstrate that Yamaha Motor’s SMT solutions are designed with practicality and efficiency in mind.”

“In addition, Yamaha Motor’s SMT business operates not only in Japan but also throughout the world, providing access to a vast pool of knowledge and expertise. As a result, when challenges arise or consultation is needed, customers can count on receiving timely and appropriate support.”
