(1995 / Production Model)
In 1994, when there was a trend toward simpler “naked” models with no fairings, the new XJR1200 was unveiled as the class’ top model boasting the largest displacement available at the time. The strong and usable torque at low- to mid-speed ranges and the enjoyable running performance from its 1,188cc air-cooled, in-line 4-cylinder engine and uniquely Yamaha clean-cut styling won it great popularity. The 1995 year model sported new equipment like Brembo calipers for the front brake and a new, more comfortable seat made with the new “YRACS” cushioning material. These features secured the model’s lasting popularity.
