Like the XJ600S, this 900cc tourer model was designed with a focus on performance in everyday riding. The newly designed air-cooled, forward-inclined, in-line 4-cylinder engine with carburetors equipped with TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) was mounted on a wide double cradle frame via a 4-point rubber mount system. It delivered easy-to-use low- to mid-rpm range torque and power, had excellent response and a comfortable ride. This display model was released in 1998 and inherited as well as enhanced the basic specs of the original 1995 model.
