This was the Japanese-market version of the VMAX model that, shortly after its debut on the U.S. market in 1985, won a popular following for its unique styling and its distinctive, powerful performance. The difference with the export model was in certain parts of the engine, but the tradeoff was that its liquid-cooled V4 1,200cc engine provided even greater drivability. Its unrivaled dynamic styling distinguished it from traditional American-style cruiser models with a presence all its own and won fans around the world, making it a long-seller for more than 20 years.
