This GP500 factory machine use a V4 engine with the V bank angle widened from 70 to 75 degrees. The reason for the change was to achieve sufficient air box capacity. Also, it featured a “T” type exhaust port (existing 3-port layout changed to 2-port) to improve pick-up characteristics and a revised drive shaft position to achieve improved handling stability.
