This GP500 factory machine mounted a completely redesigned V4 engine. To achieve even better handling stability, the two crankshafts were rotated in opposite direction to reduce gyroscopic effects in a unique structural layout. Eddie Lawson and Christian Sarron rode this machine to 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the World GP that year and Tadahiko Taira rode it to his third consecutive ('83 to '85) 500cc class All Japan Championship title.
