This YZR-M1 MotoGP racebike stood out in a year that marked Yamaha’s 60th anniversary as well as the company’s 60th year in motorcycle racing. While meeting a host of rule changes for minimum weight (158 kg), brake discs, and more, this season’s M1 gained a new gearbox and aerodynamic winglets to increase competitiveness. Armed with it, teammates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo battled for the title at each round. Lorenzo won the final race of the season to become champion and Yamaha secured the Triple Crown of Rider, Team, and Constructor titles.
