This 250cc motocross factory machine had a new engine that was now liquid-cooled mounted on a newly designed semi-double cradle frame. The un-sprung components included a large-diameter twin leading shoe drum brake in front and a new type of bottom-linked Monocross suspension. On it, Danny LaPorte won four heats in the 250cc class of the World Motocross Championships and ranked 2nd for the season.
