TZ250

This model was the successor to the “World's most competitive production racer,” the 250cc TD-3. To improve performance stability and power unit durability, liquid cooling was added to the 2-stroke piston intake valve, in-line 2-cylinder engine, and a dry sump clutch was adopted for the first time. It was released in mid-1973 along with the bigger displacement TZ350 and eventually became the main machine for World GP privateers. It was the pioneer of a long history of TZ series models.

  • Engine type: Liquid-cooled, 2-stroke, in-line 2-cylinder, 247cm³
  • Piston intake valve
  • Transmission: 6-speed
  • Maximum power output: 32.4kW (44PS) / 10,000r/min
