This 600cc touring model was developed with a focus on everyday riding. The newly designed air-cooled, forward-inclined, in-line 4-cylinder engine came with a downdraft intake system. The system’s layout made the intake passage from the air cleaner through to the intake ports as straight as possible, and this combination gave the bike easy-to-use torque and good output in the low- and mid-speed ranges, and a pleasing feeling of acceleration. The chassis adopted a high-tensile steel pipe double cradle frame and highly aerodynamic cowls to give the rider a relaxed and enjoyable cruising experience. It won a large number of motorcycle touring fans overseas as well.
