The Cygnus was designed as a large scooter that combined a relaxed riding feeling and a sporty riding experience different from the small-displacement 50cc models that made up most of the scooter category. The quiet, mild-powered 4-stroke OHV 180cc engine and the large body changed the idea that scooters should be just convenient transportation tools and expanded the world of scooter rider enjoyment to include highway riding and touring.
