Born August 1982. After taking the world title in the GP250 in 2002 (Aprilia), he moved up to MotoGP and joined Yamaha. In 2003 and 2004, he rode a YZR-M1, achieving rankings of 15th and 12th respectively. After leaving Yamaha, he successively rode Honda, Ducati and Kawasaki machines in the MotoGP. In 2011, he will return to Yamaha to ride in the World Superbike Championship.
