Born July 1962. From 1988 for two years raced with Team Lucky Strike Roberts, entering the GP500 with Wayne Rainey on a YZR500. In 1988, won his only GP500 at the Spanish Grand Prix. His ranking in both this and the 1989 series was 5th. Having pursued a racing career in Australia, he came to international attention with a 2nd in the 1986 Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race. Then, in 1987 and 1988, he achieved two back-to-back individual victories in the Suzuka 8 Hours, attesting to his toughness on the circuit. Full-time participation in GP came in 1988. In 1990, he left Yamaha to ride Suzuki machine, but crashed and was injured in the American GP, his second race since the switch, and achieved no points after that. In 1992, rode a YZR500 in the 500cc class of the All Japan Road Race Championship and achieved a ranking of 2nd.
