Born March 1968. In 1990 rode a YZR250 in the GP250 and took the championship title with seven wins. In 1991, rode in the 500cc class with Wayne Rainey and achieved a ranking of 4th, including a Malaysian GP win. In 1992 raced under the same arrangement and achieved a ranking of 3rd, with a win in South Africa. These were the only two wins Kocinski achieved on a YZR500. Subsequently, he raced in the 500cc class with Cagiva and Honda, then switched to the World Superbike Championships. In 1997 became the WSB champion (Honda). In 2001, also performed as a test rider when Yamaha was developing and testing the early version of the YZR-M1.
