Born January 1934. On his first attempt, finished 4th in the 1963 Isle of Man 250 TT. Ranked 14th in the 250 class in the same year, and subsequently raced in Grand Prix events and in Southeast Asia. In 1966, vanquished Phil Read, also on a Yamaha, to achieve victory in the Japan GP at the Fuji Speedway. After retiring from racing, opened a motorcycle store and passed on his skills to a new generation of riders, managing a team that raced in the All Japan Road Race Championship.
