August 9, 2025—On Saturday, August 24, 2025, at Round 11, the final round of the AMA Motocross Championship at Budds Creek, Maryland, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 250 Team rider Haiden Deegan, riding a YZ250F, took his seventh overall victory of the season (2nd/1st) to lift the 2025 AMA 250MX title. This marks his second consecutive title in the class, following his 2024 win. Deegan also won this year’s AMA 250SX West title, making it two titles for the 2025 season so far.

Deegan made his professional debut in 250SX East at age 17 in 2023, finishing 2nd for the season. He followed that up with a 4th place finish in the 250MX class, then won the inaugural SuperMotocross World Championship (250SMX) title. In 2024, he finished 2nd in 250SX East, before going on to win the 250MX title and following it up with a second 250SMX title the same year.

In 2025, Deegan and his YZ250F have showed no signs of slowing down. After winning his first Supercross title in 250SX West, he dominated the 250MX season that got underway on May 24th, winning both motos in Round 1 at FOX Raceway and both motos again in Round 2 at Hangtown to start the season at the top of the standings. He repeated the feat in Rounds 4 and 5, Highpoint and Southwick, winning both motos in each to make it four overall wins in the first half of the season. This helped him build a dominant championship lead of 58 points over the rider in 2nd.

After taking overall wins in Rounds 7 and 9, Deegan entered the final round at Budds Creek with a 43 point lead. He finished 2nd in the first moto to clinch the title, then went on to win Moto 2. His record for the season speaks of a dominant performance: 13 wins, seven 2nd-place finishes, one 3rd-place finish, and seven overall wins.

“I’m stoked to win my fifth 250 title. I’m also stoked to finish with a win and another overall win. All I can say is this sport can be gnarly, so when you come out on top, it’s sick.”

Wil Hahn – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 250 Team General Manager
“I'm really stoked to end the season on a high and with how Haiden started and ended it on top. We really had a great day as a team, with all the guys seeing personal bests for the season in motos and some overalls.”
