New Organizational Reforms and Personnel Changes at Yamaha Motor

IWATA, June 30, 2023 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. announces the following organizational reforms and personnel changes, effective July 1, 2023

■ Organizational Reforms (effective July 1, 2023)

1. Powertrain Unit
The Product Development Section will be reorganized with the aim of further strengthening strategy planning and technology development functions in the field of electrification technology.

・ The electric powertrain development (motor and battery development) functions of the 1st PT Design & Development Division will be transferred to the newly established Electric PT Development Division.

2. Land Mobility Business Operations
The Land Mobility Business Operations will be reorganized with the aim of strengthening organizational control and level of specialization in each of its functions.

・ For greater efficiency in the operations of the entire business, in the Land Mobility Total Strategy Section, the Business Planning Division will be newly established for business management, and the Integrated Strategy Section to integrate and centralize its various strategies will also be newly established.
・ In order to further improve the quality of value provided to customers, the Global Branding Section will newly establish the Product & Marketing Planning Division, which will formulate and plan product and marketing strategies, and the Planning Consultancy & Intelligence Division, which will create new value and support planning.
・ In order to further strengthen organizational control, the 3S Southeast & East Asia Section, the 3S Advanced Countries Section, and the 3S Emerging Countries Section will be reorganized, and the 3S 1st Area Section and the 3S 2nd Area Section will be newly established.
Under the umbrella of the 3S 1st Area Section, the Asean Division and the Emerging Countries Division will be newly established to promote the 3S operations of the motorcycle business in the ASEAN region and in other emerging countries.
Under the umbrella of the 3S 2nd Area Section, the Advanced Countries Division will be newly established to promote the 3S operations of the motorcycle business in developed countries, and the RV Division will also be newly established to promote the recreational vehicle business worldwide.

3.Marine Business Operations
The Planning Section will be reorganized in order to further strengthen human resource development and organizational development aimed at sustainable growth and greater competitiveness of the marine business.

・ The Human resource development and organizational development functions of the Business Development Division will be transferred to the MARINE Human Capital Strategy Division.
