Announcement of Organizational Reforms and Personnel Changes

IWATA, July 14, 2014 – Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. announces the following organizational reforms and personnel changes, effective July 15, 2014.

1. Organizational changes

 (1) Organization Changes in the Design Section
In order to strengthen the competitiveness of our design operations, the functional boundaries of 3D Design Division, Coloring Design Division, and Design Promotion Division have been changed, and will be reorganized to Corporate Design Division, Product Design Division, and Design Promotion Division.
- The Corporate Design Division will oversee the corporate merchandise group, build vision and scenarios for design, and roll out design strategy for all businesses. In addition, this division will be in charge of advanced design development and overall design planning (including communication design) to further improve brand value by realizing an integrated design approach right up to the point of sale.
- The Product Design Division will be in charge of overall product design development, from planning phase to 3D design and coloring design.
- The Design Promotion Division will be in charge of supplying design information for development and manufacturing, such as data and drawing creation for the purpose of commercialization of design work. In addition, this division will also be in charge of advanced development work in order to improve overall operations.

(2) Organization Changes in the PF Model Unit's Engineering Promotion Section
In order to eliminate the organizational overlap between development planning and management functions of the motorcycle business, speed up the operation, and streamline indirect operations, the Engineering Section, which was located within Motorcycle Business Operations, is now transferred to the PF Model Unit, and will become the PF Model Unit Engineering Promotion Section.
- With the transfer of the Engineering Promotion Section to the PF Model Unit, the Engineering Strategy Division, which was in the Engineering Promotion Section, and PF Model Unit's PF Planning Division have been unified and reorganized into the PF Planning Division, which is part of PF Model Unit’s Engineering Promotion Section.
