It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Genichi Kawakami at 5:30 p.m. on May 25, 2002. Mr. Kawakami was Yamaha Corporation Supreme Corporate Advisor, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. Supreme Corporate Advisor, and Yamaha Music Foundation Honorary Chairman, and we are deeply grateful for the innumerable contributions he made to the development of the Yamaha Group.
Although a private funeral was held on May 29, the Yamaha Group wishes to hold a memorial service to allow friends and associates to bid farewell to the deceased. A ceremony will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Act City Hamamatsu Event Hall, located 10 minutes on foot from the JR Hamamatsu Station at 100-1 Matsue-cho, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. Mourners are requested to wear their usual business attire rather than formal funeral wear, and to refrain from leaving flowers or funerary offerings. |
