This was Yamaha Motor’s production racer model developed for ice oval racing (racing around oval courses like horse racing venues but with the track covered in ice) in the snowmobile’s main markets of the U.S. and Canada. Designed and engineered throughout for a low center of gravity, the model’s features included an aluminum frame, double wishbone front suspension and spiked tracks.
