The DX250 and YDS Series defined a generation as some of Japan’s first full-fledged sport models, and the RD250 2-stroke sport model followed in their footsteps. Technological breakthroughs gained through feedback from racing were adopted, such as a torque induction mechanism in the engine and a 6-speed transmission, resulting in powerful yet easy-to-use middle to low rpm performance and quick acceleration. Together with its chassis—especially the frame and brakes—the RD250 had a nimble ride where the rider and machine functioned as one.
