1975 RC100M
Collection items
(1975 / Racing Kart)
This was the successor to the early Yamaha racing kart RC100, also known as the “Red Arrow.” A 100cc air-cooled, 2-stroke single-cylinder engine with a centrifugal clutch is mounted on a steel pipe frame. Because kart racing is the proving ground for young drivers entering 4-wheeler race competition where Formula 1 is the pinnacle class, with the release of the RC100M in 1974, Yamaha Motor also set up the SL Kart Club. By issuing licenses and organizing events like unmodified one-make races for Yamaha karts held throughout Japan, the club worked to spread and promote racing.
