Eleven years after the release of the epoch-making Passol, the usage of scooters had expanded not only to shopping and commuting to and from work or school, but also short distance touring and even racing. The BW'S was released as a model to answer the now diverse range of users. It was developed for younger riders for whom riding a motorcycle was mainly for fun, and it adopted wide, flat block pattern tires, long-stroke suspensions and more to make it a model capable of recreational off-road riding as well.
