Born May 1983. In 2002, at the age of just 18, rode in the MotoGP with the Red Bull Yamaha WCM team. His machine that year was a 2-stroke YZR500 the first factory machine he mastered. In 1998, he won the Aprilia 250 Cup, and in 1999 he raced in AMA 600SS and 750SS competition. In 2000, he took the 750SS champion. In 2001, he won the AMA Formula Xtreme Championship, and the following year he raced in the MotoGP. That year, his highest place was a 7th in the Dutch GP accompanied by a ranking of 15th. His trademark was a deep angle of lean in the corners. In 2002, he switched to Suzuki, and in 2007 obtained a MotoGP ranking of 4th. After that, he continued racing on Kawasaki and Honda machines.
