February 17, 2025

IWATA, February 17, 2025 - Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) announces that it will release the new YRP10e solder paste printer*¹ on April 1 of this year.

The YRP10e is an entry-level model with a focus on ease of use while inheriting the base performance of the premium YRP10 printer. The new generation of the YR Series platform has excellent rigidity and is equipped with Yamaha's proprietary 3S head*²and stencil adsorption function, providing high-speed printing performance with a core tact time of 6 seconds and a high printing accuracy of ±6σ : ±30μm Cpk≧2.0 (measured with a CeTaQ measuring device under Yamaha Motor's optimum conditions). Compared to the previous entry-level model (YCP10), the YRP10e is approx. 25% faster and boasts approx. 40% higher printing accuracy.*³

Additionally, the YRP10e comes standard with features such as printing pressure feedback control for precise pressure adjustments and a universal stencil holder that enables one-touch stencil replacement to enhance setup efficiency. Popular features from the premium model have also been retained, including comprehensive print inspection utilizing a dedicated high-resolution, wide-field inspection camera, and remaining solder quantity detection that monitors the solder quantity on the stencil to ensure consistent print quality.

Yamaha Motor brings its ideal 1 STOP SMART SOLUTION concept to life by leveraging its strengths as a full-line manufacturer of mounting equipment, including printers, surface mounters, dispensers, and inspection systems. The Company also promotes the Intelligent Factory as a system that comprehensively achieves higher efficiency in the mounting process through smooth and sophisticated inter-equipment coordination without needing black boxes.

*1: A machine which applies cream-based solder made of fine soldering particles, viscous fluid flux, and a binder to printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a spatula-like tool called a "squeegee." By heating it in a reflow oven, the solder melts and bonds the surface-mount electronic components to the PCB.
*2: Swing Single Squeegee head. This proprietary printing head controls the attack angle, speed, and printing application force with one squeegee.
*3: Under Yamaha Motor's optimum conditions.

Market Background and Product Outline
Ultra-compact chip components, narrow-pitch electrode components, and others are being increasingly used in electronic component mounting processes, where the trend toward smaller sizes, higher density, higher functionality, and diversification is accelerating. Accordingly, the process of applying solder paste to PCBs has become considerably more challenging. The difficulty of producing basic boards with entry-level machines is also increasing year by year.
To help address this, Yamaha Motor developed the YRP10e as an entry-level solder past printer that combines the high-speed, high-precision printing performance from the premium model with carefully selected, user-friendly basic functions-all while ensuring exceptional value for money. Despite being an entry-level model, it comes standard with features highly regarded in premium machines, including printing pressure feedback control for precise printing pressure adjustments, a universal stencil holder for one-touch switching between various stencil sizes, and a buffer conveyor that reduces transport time, contributing to faster tact times.

YRP10e Main Features
1) High-Speed, High-Precision Printing

The YRP10e retains the premium model's base performance and delivers high-speed printing with a core tact time of 6 seconds and an exceptional printing accuracy of ±6σ : ±30μm Cpk ≧2.0 (measured using a CeTaQ instrument under Yamaha's optimal conditions). Compared to the previous YCP10 model, it achieves approximately 25% faster speeds and a 40% improvement in accuracy.

◎ 3S Head for High Quality and Stable Printing
Equipped with a servo motor, the Company's proprietary 3S (Swing Single Squeegee) head can have its attack angle and speed freely set and adjusted via program and enables printing under optimal conditions tailored to the specific type of solder being used. Printing can be carried out under optimal conditions tailored to the specific solder being used. The 3SR squeegee, featuring revised materials and an improved design, enhances printing quality by extending stencil life, improving rolling performance and filling efficiency, and reducing solder adhesion issues. It also minimizes solder waste.
Additionally, the system is equipped with a load cell sensor that enables precise setting and control of squeegee pressure through the printing pressure feedback control system, ensuring consistently accurate pressure settings and stable, high-quality printing.

◎ Stencil Vacuum Mechanism Enabling High-Precision Printing
By vacuum-fixing the foil portion of the stencil, along with a stencil vacuum mechanism that reduces the effects of stencil distortion and elongation, more stable, high-precision printing is achieved by keeping the PCB and stencil in close contact. In addition, greater reductions in setup times are provided as there is no need to input offsets during reciprocating printing.

◎ Buffer Conveyor - Faster Transport and Optimized Tact Time
Up to three boards can be staged near the printing area, enabling parallel transport operations and improving tact time.

◎ Extensive Range of Optional Equipment
A wide range of optional features is available, including remaining solder quantity detection that monitors the amount of solder on the stencil to enhance print quality, and image inspection utilizing a dedicated high-resolution, wide-field, high-performance optical inspection camera that carries out reliable and detailed post-print inspection.

2) Improved User Experience (UX)
◎ Universal Stencil Holder
The ability to easily switch to a variety of stencil sizes with just one touch without the need for a stencil adapter ensures greater flexibility and improves usability.

3) Other
Equipped standard with a main stopper, the system enables flexible transport when used in combination with stopper-less conveyors.
As a YR Series platform model, the OS supports the latest version of Windows 10* and adopts a stylish graphical interface that is easy to view and use, making for a total design that can be used for the long term with peace of mind.
