Indonesian market commuter model Mio J adds new color options targeting young customers -JKT48 to star in promotions-

February 24, 2012

In early March 2012, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will introduce a new series of color choices aimed at expanding the target of the new Mio J 115cc automatic transmission commuter model to users under twenty. The Mio J features class-leading fuel economy and cost performance and was introduced into the market earlier this month.

The new color variations for the Mio J combine a selection of sporty colors with fashionable graphics composed of geometric designs that are specially targeted at young users in their late-teens.
Two new color schemes of green or white accents on a black base color will be added and three more accent colors of blue, black or red on a white base color will be added, making a total of five new colors and bringing the total number of color combinations available up to ten.

Group company PT. Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) will provide the new coloring as it manufactures and markets the Mio J.

Also, YIMM will feature Jakarta-based girl group JKT48*1 in a wide range of promotions with posters and TV commercials that are set to bring a refreshing appeal to the generation of young users.

*1 JKT48: The Jakarta-based sister group of Akihabara-based female idol group AKB48. They began activities in fall of 2011.
